A cafe visit is always one of the gastronomic highlights of any trip I make to the UK. I'm there at the end of October and I can already smell the bacon and black pudding.
My last trip featured E. Pellici in Bethnal Green and Beppe’s Café near Smithfield Market.
I'll try to get to Regency Cafe this trip.
We have excellent cafes in Australia, but they're not greasy spoons.
nothing makes my goat boil more than the use of 'authentic' in a food context, where is it, can you point to it? if its a feeling, and it must be that, then it is up to you enjoy whatever the hell it is you want to enjoy. to use tedious modern parlance your 'authentic' lived experience is that rush of ecstasy over that 'inauthentic' penne vodka.
I haven’t! I tend to think the best caff is the one that’s nearest, but I’ve heard lots of great things about Terry’s. Sausage the most important thing I think.

I very much enjoyed this
Have you been to Terry's near London Bridge? Does the perfect greasy spoon but with quality sausages and bacon thing perfectly. Also salt beef!
